Last night I went to a Kansas City Chamber event. Great event, but I ran into a few individuals that reminded me of the sales cult classic film "Glengarry Glen Ross."
In my opinion "Glengarry Glen Ross" portrays an exaggerated and ethically dubious sales environment, but its impact on the sales process today is evident in the ongoing discussions about sales culture, motivation, ethics, and adaptation to changing markets. GGR serves as both a cautionary tale and a motivational artifact, reminding sales professionals and organizations of the importance of balancing aggressive sales tactics with ethical considerations and long-term customer relationships.
Adam Baldwins' speech is required knowledge for anybody in sales. "Coffee is for Closers" and "A.B.C." are known catch phrases from this movie from over 30 years ago. And impact of "Glengarry Glen Ross," on today's sales processes can be observed in several key areas:

If your organization can't joke or reference this movie during meetings, in front of their leadership...there is a reason for it.
Yes it is a classic. But not a model for any organization.
