Even in a Quiet Town

Mass shootings always seem to happen somewhere else. I have never visited Maine. It is on the list. When a weapons instructor snaps- in a case like this it might have been better if he merely killed himself.

At this writing he is still at large. It may be an unpopular opinion. It is corny to begin a LinkedIn post with "Unpopular opinion". When someone shoots innocent people trying to go about their business and then kills himself- why not simply kill yourself?

This man opened fire in a nightclub and a bowling alley. There was a children's league playing there at the time. This story is still in play. There is conjecture. It seems the assailant lost his job and his girlfriend broke up with him.

One of those changes is difficult. These and a stay in a mental hospital add up to a very bad experience. He had no right to shoot random people at a bar and a bowling alley.

Many who settle for claptrap try to find the "Why" of any given action. Tell that to the families of victims. One woman worked at the bowling alley and was there on a day off helping out. He did not have the right to take her life.

None of the so called Pro-Lifers ever speak out about guns. He certainly had access to weapons. It does not seem like he had a manifesto nor was trying to become famous. He was probably in pain. Take a number and get in line.

Everyone has adversity. Doesn't mean they open fire on the populace. Eighteen more lives lost and a small police force is trying to find the man who did not cover his face. There are no safe spaces.
