Even a newbie can post daily on LinkedIn with this method

Do you struggle in coming up with LinkedIn posts daily?
Well, I do!
But then I choose to struggle on one day instead of every day.
*drumrolls*
The step by step method to post daily on LinkedIn is here:
1. Pick a day and number
Going for daily shopping is a waste of time. That's why we have got weekends no?
Shop all that you need. And use it later in the week whenever it's needed.
That's exactly what you've to do for your LinkedIn posts.
Choose one day from 7 days of the week.
This chosen day will be your very own content strategy day.
Depending on your content consistency pick number of posts you'll need in a week.
If you post twice in 1 day like me, the number will be 14.
If you post once every day, the number will be 7.
If you post once in 2 days, the number will be 4.
Let's say it's 7.
Write a series of numbers from 1 to 7.
(If you prefer to type instead of writing like me, keep a notepad handy in your phone.)
This series of numbers is NECESSARY.
When you'll stare at it, it'll make you write 'just anything' in front of each number. Magic! ;)
2. Think Think Think
Think about the past week.
On the back side of the paper write everything which comes to your mind about past week.
- Any conversation with someone
- Any video/movie you watched
- Anything you read on internet
- Any new food you tried
- Any book you read
- Any incident you observed while commuting
- Any project you finished
- Any new song you discovered
.......write just ANY thing.
This 'ANY' list is your ideas list.
Write all that come to your mind. Decide later whether it's worth it or not.
3. Fill the space
Pick any 7 topics from your ideas list.
Pick those topics about which you are comfortable sharing.
Write one topic in front of each number.
This is your posts list for the coming week. It must have taken you 60-90 min (max) to prepare this list.
If it's more than 60-90 min, then you're thinking too much. Go easy.
Take a break for 15-20 min. You did great!
4. Pick one and expand it
After the break time, pick post no. 1
Take a new paper. Write that post title at top of the paper.
Title?
Well, it's simply what you have written in front of each number in the posts list.
Once you write the title, drop the pen and think about that incident.
1 incident and 3 questions:
- who were the characters?
- why do you still remember it?
- what were your key takeaways?
Grab the pen and start writing before the answers fly away.
Thoughts are pretty fast, you know. They are hard to catch yet beautiful just like butterflies.
Let's take the example of post #1
"When the food delivery got late last evening"
The incident went like this:
Last evening, you ordered dinner from your favourite restaurant. You eagerly waited for the food as you were damn hungry. But due to rain, the food didn't arrive on time. It got late by 40 min. You were dying of hunger. You called the delivery boy many times while waiting for the food. After some time, the delivery boy arrived, gave you the food packet and went away. You opened the packet and ate as if it was the last meal left on the planet.
Q.1) Who were the characters?
Ans. You and the delivery boy.
Q.2) Why do you still remember it?
Ans. Because it tested your patience for real + you were really hungry aka famished.
Q.3) What were the key takeaways? (This ques will take more time than the last 2)
Ans. You got angry and kept calling delivery boy in every 10 min. It tested your patience but you couldn't keep your calm. Moreover, when the delivery boy arrived, you didn't say Thank You or appreciated him for delivering the food even in the rains.
WAIT!
The ultimate question, will it be professional to talk about all these things on LinkedIn?
Professionals are also human. They enjoy food like you. And many of them must be foodie. When LinkedIn feed is full of the serious career stuff, your post appears on a lighter mode.
It's not unprofessional unless you're offending others in any way.
So my friend, you ain't doing anything wrong. Also, Q.3) is the reason why your post won't be just any post.
If it's giving some no non-sense takeaways, it's good to go!
More you talk about your day-to-day activities, stronger will be your connection with the readers
Similarly, apply '1 incident and 3 questions' rule on rest of the post topics in the posts list.
5. Put it all together
Now that we have all the raw inputs to create a post, let's blend 'em all.
Taking the food delivery example, the LinkedIn post can look like:
Sometimes you don't realise your behaviour while your patience is being tested!
Last evening it was raining when I got home.
I was really hungry.
So I ordered food from my favourite restaurant.
The delivery time was 30 min.
I waited but there was no sign of delivery boy.
I called him.
He said, "It's raining heavily. I'll be there as soon as I can."
I waited.
10 more min passed. But no food.
I called him again.
He repeated the same thing.
For next 40 min, I kept calling him after every 10 min and he kept giving me the same response.
Then my doorbell rang.
The delivery boy was standing there drenched in rain.
He looked at me, smiled and said "Sorry for the delay, Sir. I rushed as fast as I could."
I just nodded, took my packet and closed the door.
As I was about to finish the food, I realised my behaviour.
The guy was drenched in rain yet he smiled and apologised.
What did I do?
Nothing!
I felt really bad.
Immediately, I called him and said sorry and thank you.
He simply laughed.
I guess, they don't often receive calls like that.
This incident taught me what does #patience mean.
Patience doesn't just mean waiting.
It means waiting and not losing your senses while being humble.
What say? What does patience mean to you?
Have you ever had similar experience?
