Even CEOs Have Imposter Syndrome

Some 71% of chief executive officers and 65% of senior executives said they experience signs of imposter syndrome, including low confidence and feeling incompetent or ill-equipped for their role, according to a recent report by Korn Ferry Consulting. That compares with about a third of early-stage professionals.
“They were well prepared for the CEO position, but felt inadequate when they entered their seat,” said Mark Arian, CEO of Korn Ferry Consulting. The group surveyed 10,000 professionals, from entry-level to CEO, in the US, UK, Brazil, Middle East, Australia, and India.
