The Evaluations Of Dust Suppressants For Gravel Roads
There has been an ongoing problem on the roads generating dust from vehicle passage, most common being the cloud of dust behind vehicles traveling on the road. A consequence from this is the discomfort for road-users and many inhabitants of building which are adjacent to the roads. The visibility levels are extremely poor following and passing other vehicles which creates a safety hazard for people everywhere. Having a badly suppressed road contributes to fuel costs, traveling times, riding discomforts and vehicle wear. Along-side with this, the effects form dust include: health hazards, reduce agricultural yields, pollution and road construction materials.
The dust suppressant particles are measured in sizes up to 10 (PM10). Health reports conclude that PM10 can be retained in the human body's respiratory system and is linked to decreased lung function, asthma, chronic bronchitis and irregular heart beat. Due to these reasons, a proper dust suppressant to gravel roads in necessary to ensure road safety and creating a cleaner, healthier environment. Using a proper dust suppressant product will reduce dusting by 90% and the total aggregate loss be between 55-67% compared to non-treated roads. Not only will proper suppressant annual cost of control reduce, but as well have environmental impact from the release of these chemicals on our environment.
