Evaluating your Learning Initiatives [SlideShare]

Evaluating your Learning Initiatives [SlideShare]

Attempting to fudge, hide or ignore results by cherry picking what to evaluate is pointless. Genuinely evaluating success or failure against worthwhile objectives is not.

For the final instalment in my 4-part SlideShare series I am focusing on the evaluation of learning. This continues to be a hot topic, with more and more research arguing that happy sheets and attendance records are not enough – and that what we should be focusing on is what participants are doing differently in the workplace, and the impact that this is having on the business.

Take a look at the prequels in our SlideShare Series:

  1. What is transfer of learning?
  2. The why & who of learning transfer
  3. The 6 essential ingredients for successful learning transfer

Thanks Emma Weber. I am also revisiting your book as I research for my own book on ROI in Leadership Development. I had forgotten how bold and how cutting-edge your book is.

I have an extremely powerful take-away from the statement, "Attempting to fudge, hide or ignore results by cherry picking what to evaluate is pointless". There's as much to gain for uncovering what's not working as there is from discovering what is working. The hidden opportunity is to stop doing what's not working.

Thanks for sharing this series of posts Emma Weber - I have recently revisited your book and started to think more about how I can apply your methodology to the work I am doing.
