Evaluating the Stability of Tunnel Washer Systems: Tumble Dryer's Transmission System and Electrical and Pneumatic Components

When choosing tumble dryers for tunnel washer systems, you should consider several key points. They are the heat exchange system, the transmission system, and the electrical and pneumatic components. In the previous article, we have discussed the heat exchange system. Today, we will discuss the impacts of the heat exchange system, the transmission system, and the electrical and pneumatic components?on the tumble dryer's stability.

Inner Drum and Transmission Components

Many manufacturers use carbon steel to make tumble dryers'?inner drums and then paint the surface. However, this will contribute to a problem. Linen rolls and rubs against the inner drum so that the paint will wear off as time goes by. It will make the inner drum rust and contaminate the linen.

CLM's Inner drum

At CLM, we use 304 stainless steel to construct our tumble dryers'?inner drums. It is also a material favored by European and American manufacturers. The recommended thickness of the drum material is 2.5 mm. Thicker materials can hinder heat transfer. Thinner materials may not maintain a smooth surface, increasing the risk of towel wear and linen damage.

The rotation of the tumble dryer's inner drum is driven by the support wheel, so the quality of the support wheel will affect the quality of the tumble dryer. Once the wheel is deformed, the inner drum will shift and rub against the outer drum, which can easily damage the linens. In severe conditions, it will cause the machine to shut down. Components such as support wheels that are highly intensive and easily damaged should be made of high-quality imported materials. Otherwise, damage will not only cause trouble for maintenance but also reduce production efficiency.

Electrical and Pneumatic Components?

The electrical configuration and control systems, the feed and discharge door cylinders, temperature and humidity sensors, and the PLC control system?are vital as well. Since a tumble dryer is a complex and complete system, any malfunction in even the smallest electrical component can halt the entire machine, severely impacting laundry plant efficiency. Therefore, the quality of these components is another important factor in maintaining the stability of a tumble dryer and the efficiency of a tunnel washer system.
