?? The Albanese Government is backing a lawsuit challenging the Victorian Government's EV road user charge. Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus has filed an intervention in the High Court to support two Victorian motorists in their lawsuit against the State Government, though he has yet to file submissions.
? Hyundai has confirmed a high performance version of the popular Ioniq 5 EV will be made available in Australia in 2023, after it debuts around the world. Pricing of the vehicle is speculated to be around $100,000.
? The ACT has revealed they aim to be the first Australian state or territory to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel fuelled internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. This policy will enable the capital Territory to reach their goal of net-zero emissions by 2045 – five years ahead of most of the rest of the country.?
?? A quarter more electric cars were registered in Germany in the first half of 2022 than in the same period last year, according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). Germany aims to have 15 million e-cars on its roads by 2030.
