EuroSTAR Conference
I had a truly enjoyable conference at the #EuroStarConf this year, including presenting a talk that explores how our appetite for risk changes when the project becomes overdue. The talk was in the largest auditorium in the Netherlands in, #WorldForumTheHague. This was a bit unnerving to start with, but overall a truly memorable experience.
Thanks to Adonis Celestine for a great track chair and thanks to the audience for asking so many stimulating questions, which continued well after the end of the session with Orlando, Keoma and Bart-Jan.
Also, I was lucky enough to give a half day tutorial on how to improve your retrospectives by addressing your human biases. We are finding that this approach is proving a good way to unlocking those hidden lessons that are otherwise missed.
One of the great things about EuroSTAR is the stimulating conversations that lead to fresh ideas. I came away packed with new ideas to try and am planning to develop one into a talk for next year's EuroSTAR in Prague.
I'm looking forward to the #UKSTAR conference in March, where I will be talking about Technical Debt and its link to how we make decisions.
