Euros 2024: England are everybody's favourite....
Tree Elven
Thought provocateur for individuals / organisations who want to ask themselves the right questions to achieve true success.
Aren't they?
Well, they did start as 3/1 favourites in the line-up of 24 teams kicking off over in Germany.
The vibe was good-natured in the few actual commercials leading up to the lucrative event: the British Broadcasting Corportion (BBC) wrapped a game within a game in its pacey pinball trailer (top image) promoting its coverage.
And?Irish gambling company Paddy Power brings its trademark twist to this tongue-in-cheek ad ahead of football's biggest summer tournament.?
Even if - or maybe especially if - you're not a footie fan, you'll probably enjoy how It takes the rip out of English football, beliefs and behaviours with gentle humour by juxtaposing how England perceives itself with how it's perceived by other nations, including traditional rivals Scotland (pictured).
Three-times winner Germany is hosting the 17th edition of the tournament, for the first time since reunification of East and West Germany. The 24 teams will be playing for the chance to lift the Henri Delaunay Cup representing the biggest prize of the year.
UEFA will distribute a total of €331 million in prize money for Euro 2024, with every participating nation to receive €9.25 million.
The winners will receive an extra payment of €8 million.
Favourites? I liked the pinball, but the Paddy Power scores high for good-natured humour strikes....
