European truck drivers need to have appropriate information on safe and secure parking places!
ASFINAG has implemented a parking place information system for trucks! With this new truck parking information system we are offering a high quality ITS-Service to our customers! This system will help truck drivers to find a suitable, safe and secure rest place along the Austrian Highways and Expressways. Now we are in line with the REGULATION (EU) No 885/2013 supplementing ITS Directive 2010/40/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the “provision of information services for safe and secure parking places for trucks and commercial vehicles”
The solution: Additional 30 full graphic LED displays have been added to the information infrastructure, existing 30 LED displays have been integrated into this system. The capacity measurement for the truck parking spaces utilization was realised by using Full HD camera systems. More than 300 cameras are integrated into this brand new system. A specific control software is managing the information of free parking spaces for predefined road corridors. The continuously monitoring is carried out by ASFINAG traffic management centres.
