Is European bread really healthier???

Is European bread really healthier???

But before we get to bread....

Monday Morning Moms is coming at you here on TUESDAY.? Why?

I have always been fascinated by culture and took it upon myself to learn about different world cultures from an early age.? Some years ago, I learned that France required workers take 2 week holidays (Minimum) and Germany did as well (More by collective bargain agreements and custom, than law, but nonetheless).

Out of Office!

This led me to ask WHY?

Its because:

  • it allows time to truly disconnect
  • which prevents burnout
  • and leaves employees more refreshed and perform better
  • it creates true work-life balance

So I started to create my own boundaries, against typical American norms, and root into this as well.? Thus, I didn't want to come at you all on a holiday, but rather let everyone rest, relax and focus on the family, which is what its all about!

So lets dive in to today's bullets:

(1) IS EUROPEAN BREAD HEALTHIER?

If you have been to Europe, you know you: food tastes better, you feel better, and you usually lose a pound or two.

Why are European breads so much healthier!

I have been to Europe numerous times and these are basically FACTS.

But is it because the food is healthier or because you are consistently walking 5+ miles per day?

Its both.??

I dove into this online and found THIS ARTICLE which talks about the flour they utilize which is really the foundational difference.? Rather than me try to regurgitate it as its pretty dense, If you care to know, read it.? If not, take my word for it!

The top 3 Italian flours are all available to us pretty easily through Amazon.

1. Caputo

2.?Molino Dallagiovanna:

3. Le 5 Stagioni

I am always focused on how I can get better food without creating a massive time-consuming process.? Isn't that what all moms need/want?!

So whats my goal?

Start a simple sourdough recipe and use it to make bread, tortillas, and biscuits, which are our primarily bread products.? I hope to take less than 2 hours per week to do this mixed into my food prep routine (so not really an ADDITIONAL 2 hours, maybe 60-75 minutes).? I'll keep you posted.??

Have any tips?!? Please share!

(2) HOW HARD IS TO FIND FLEXIBLE WORK?

Benefits of Part-time Work

We all want to have a better schedule, one that allows us to root into our natural role as a mom, but also allows us to stay engaged in work (ie. mentally stimulating and money making!). The trouble is, we hear about these jobs, but where in the world are they ACTUALLY available.

Ultimate Career Toolkit

When I go online, I often see flexible or part-time roles with 1,000 applicants.? Don't let this deter you!? Instead, remember that there is usually a software culling those applications and if you know how to engage with it, you can get ahead.? This is one of the components I baked into my 40+ page ULTIMATE CAREER TOOLKIT (which includes everything you need to stand out and a full guide on how to make your resume shine and break through those software algorithms!).? Grab your Toolkit HERE.??

The truth is, there simply are NOT enough part time or flexible roles in corporate America.? You usually have to MAKE your own opportunity (and I also help women do this regularly).??

But I did find a list of Major Employers who offer Part time Roles. I shared this in the newsletter this morning. Want to see it? Sign up for the EMAILED version of this newsletter??????:

(3) WHOLE HOME WATER FILTER: Overkill and Necessary???

I listened to an interesting conversation on a podcast I occasionally tune into with the Real Brad Lea (caution: plenty of back language). This episode featured Casey Troy of the Certified Health Nut.? One of the things they discussed was a water filter system.? I had never really looked into this or even thought much about it, until my good friend was telling me about a water filter for her shower head that helps improve your hair health and quality.??

The podcast didn't go into the science or rationale, so I won't link to that, but here is a bit more science behind it here on DrAxe.com .

If you have a water system like this or anything else, would love to hear from you!

I love to cook and bake, but feel like there's rarely enough time to do it routinely. Since becoming an "empty-nester", I find myself making a lot of semi-homemade meals. I like to challenge myself to get something that tastes good, is relatively healthy, and whips up in under 15 minutes. Bread is a whole other venture - good luck and looking forward to seeing your starter/bread journey!
