The new update introduces several changes to Single Permit that are listed below:

The European Union instructs Member States to process Single Permit applications within a 90-day timeframe, reducing the current timeframe of the 120-day waiting period. The 30-day extension can be granted for complicated cases. Also, foreign nationals with existing residence permits can apply for a Single Permit without returning to their home country.

Foreign nationals with a Single Permit can now change their employer, work sector, and occupation through a simple notification process by the employer.

The European Union offers exceptional protection for unemployed foreign nationals with a single permit. A single permit holder can stay three months to find different employment before their permits are withdrawn.

Single Permits for over two years are granted six months for foreign nationals to secure employment and stay within Europe. Extensions of Single Permits are possible for those who have previously been exploited.
