Europe Aimed to Hardening on Cyber Security

While cyber security incidents increase their severity, they also pose a great threat to the functioning of networks and information systems. The European Parliament has also taken new steps to strengthen cyber security against this danger.

So What Happened?

The European Parliament has announced a "temporary agreement" aimed at improving organizations' cybersecurity and resilience. The revised directive, called "NIS2" (network and information systems), is expected to replace existing legislation on cybersecurity created in July 2016.

What Does NIS2 Aim for?

It sets ground rules that require companies in many industries to comply with risk management measures and reporting obligations. In general, it directs the necessary preparations for institutions to harden their cyber security.

How to act on this issue?

Organizations must not ignore and harden their cybersecurity planning. Industry standards recommended by such as CIS, Gartner Adaptive Security, NIST Special Publication 800-207, and DISA STIG should also be followed by organizations to increase cybersecurity resilience.
