The Euro Lock Cylinder

The Euro Lock Cylinder, also referred to as a "lock engine", is a popular locking system used by architectural ironsmiths and locksmiths. This type of lock with a maximum of six pins per cylinder and is commonly known as a Euro Profile Cylinder.

The cylinder comes in a variety of sizes and finishes, including Satin Steel, Graphite, Antique Brass, Chrome, Gold, and Rose Gold, now also available with the PVD process.

Euro cylinder locks are one of the most popular types of door locks in the UK and now this system is surrounded by worldwide areas. They use pins of various lengths and sizes that come into contact with the serrated edges of the inserted key to unlock the lock. The Euro Cylinder is a specific profile (cross-sectional design) of the cylinder lock. The cylindrical barrel is easy to fix, and replacements can be used to switch to a different key which will increase the security of the lock. To replace the cylinder, you just need to remove the old cylinder and insert a new one of the same size.

Single Cylinder

Euro cylinders are also available with a range of security features, including anti-snap, anti-bump, and anti-pick. Anti-snap locks are designed to prevent burglars from snapping the lock cylinder in half. Anti-bump locks are designed to prevent lock bumping, a technique used by burglars to open locks using a specially cut key. Anti-pick locks use a combination of pins of different sizes and shapes to make it difficult for someone to pick the lock.

Thumb Turn Cylinder

Euro cylinders are also available in different sizes, including single cylinder, double cylinder, and thumb turn cylinder. Single cylinders are used on doors that only require a key to unlock from the outside, while double cylinders are used on doors that require a key to unlock from both the inside and outside. Thumb turn cylinders are used on doors that require a key to unlock from the outside but can be unlocked from the inside by turning a thumb turn.
