Eureka!
It was not only Archimedes but each one of us have the EUREKA MOMENT in our lives. This is what simulates us to move forward, to take up new journeys, to take up new challenges, to emerge victorious, to be happy, to embrace change and to fit ourselves into this ever evolving world.
Children also have these wonderful small or big Eureka Moments in their day to day life. We need to teach them to cherish it, to nurture it and to save it forever in their memories. When they know that each of their discoveries and inventions are received with love, they confidently try out new things. And that is what the world wants. We want entrepreneurs who come up with something different. We want educators who are making a difference. We want politicians who have a good perception of the world. We want scientists who invent peaceful things.
This wonderful girl found a feather during her muddy treasure hunt. She was excited about it. She ran to her educator to show what she had found. Her educator froze the moment in an attempt to capture the learning which was taking place in the moment between the little girl and the educator. Then they researched about the bird whose feather it was. They also explored about feathers and why they fall off birds, how they help in the flight, etc. One Eureka Moment got converted into a research exploration and tons of ideas poured out, questions streamed in and answers were debated and discussed. Overall the outdoor classroom turned into a wonderful memory to be cherished by everyone.
So how do we see all of them? This is a new breed who believes in inventing for the better. It is through coaxing and embracing their small EUREKA MOMENTS.
Here are some of the love aspects for children.
1. Believe in them
2. Love them.
3. Encourage them every time.
4. Share their moments of pride.
5. Build a community of listeners by being a listener yourself.
So What are you teaching today?

6 年You are right Kesar . Every child has his/her Eureka moment and as facilitators we need to encourage them to achieve more by appreciating and showing our trust that they can go beyond excellence.
