EUDR - Will the Commission issue guidelines?

The Commission is developing guidelines to provide more detail on a few aspects of the Regulation, most notably the definition of "agricultural use," which will cover matters pertaining to certification, legality, agroforestry, agricultural land, and other topics that are important to many local stakeholders. It is intended for these documents to be released prior to the Regulation taking effect.

In order to provide informal assistance on a variety of topics, the Commission is also soliciting feedback and encouraging discussion among stakeholders through the Multi-stakeholder Platform on Protecting and Restoring the World's Forests. The most common queries that the Commission has received from pertinent parties are already addressed in this frequently asked questions paper, which will be updated over time.

N.B: No additional guidelines are necessary to comply with the rules. The Commission aims to elaborate certain aspects to explain how the Regulation will work in practice, share best practice examples, etc.
