Dear friends,
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the EU-Taiwan Briefing. Each month, we'll bring you key highlights from the EU-Taiwan Tracker, our comprehensive resource on relations between Taiwan and the EU.
In this newsletter, we'll provide you with a regular update on the frequency of interactions and spotlight the countries that have seen the most engagement with Taiwan. We’ll also highlight the top events shaping EU-Taiwan relations, as well as PRC’s responses to these developments. Lastly, we'll feature CEIAS’s latest analyses on Taiwan. ?
This month focuses on Taiwan's ongoing humanitarian and financial aid to Ukraine, the European Parliament's resolution condemning China's misinterpretation of UN Resolution 2758 and its continued escalation of tensions in the Taiwan Strait, former President Tsai Ing-wen's visit to Europe, and the Baltic presence at a science and technology conference in Taipei.

"There is growing interest in exploring 2/1.5 track diplomacy tool to promote Taiwan's foreign partnerships and help it secure and preserve it's international space. This layer of relations holds a big potential, as it can help Taiwan escape the constrains placed on it by?China and European countries' One China Policy(ies), especially when conducted via ranking party functionaires who don't hold public offices," says CEIAS Executive Director Matej ?imal?ík following his visit in Taiwan.?
