Similarly, automation has revolutionized routine tasks like data entry, transaction processing, and document verification, freeing employees to focus on complex, strategic responsibilities. Importantly, automation hasn’t displaced workers but has instead enhanced their roles.

The Act complements existing EU financial regulations, ensuring transparency, market integrity, and stability while safeguarding human rights. A recent European Commission consultation on understanding AI applications in finance will shape future policies in this dynamic area.

Challenges to Widespread AI Adoption

Despite its transformative potential, AI adoption faces several hurdles in the financial sector:

  • Resource Allocation: Budget constraints for AI research and implementation remain challenging.
