An ethos of transitioning to Apprenticeships

Over the years, we have developed an effective curriculum architecture that seamlessly transitions 16-18 study programme and adult learners into apprenticeships within the same academic year, providing social mobility and opportunity,
Our ethos, embedded in all staff within our schools, is to create pathways of progressive progression for learners ready and eager to seize new opportunities. This approach supports our local economy and addresses skills gaps in Lancashire.
The support of our delivery and pastoral staff is key to ensuring these transitions are successful, as changes can often unsettle learners.
One standout example this year in 2023-24 is our Painting Level 1 study programme for 16-18 learners. With the fantastic support of their tutor, Shaun Grady QTLS, MSET, IQA , currently to date over eight learners have transitioned into our apprenticeship programme mid-year. This focus on providing progressive pathways in-year stems from a technical delivery infused with passion, industry practice, and education, enabling learners to confidently progress to interviews with our employers and, subsequently, secure apprenticeships.
By developing a pipeline of new talent, we are not only empowering our learners but also strengthening the local economy in Lancashire.
