Guide Olders 60s to shape & share a legacy they "live to leave better, wiser, kinder" with confidence and courage, without wasting time, effort, & money
In the tapestry of life, ethical, ecological, and environmental legacy literacy and associated wise practices influence our individual lives in being FOR the World and the collective future WITH the Planet.
Together, they weave a dynamic narrative about our action-outcomes for discovering, shaping, and sharing wholistic practices, sustainable living legacy.
DRAFT Chapter from an upcoming book!
With this opening forefront in my head, heart, and hands, I acknowledge I'm an eco-solo-ager.
Moving In:
I'm inviting other agers, especially those living a solo-aging lifestyle with interest in nature, forests, and trees, to leverage their professional (and paraprofessional) experience for the betterment of society.
Being Realistic and a Questioner
It's important to grasp the essence of being realistic and a questioner in our/your approach towards sustainable legacy living.
Being realistic means understanding and accepting the facts of a situation rather than basing our actions and expectations on wishes, fantasies, or misconceptions.
It involves acknowledging the constraints and limitations that exist in reality, whether these pertain to personal capabilities, allocation of time-effort-money, or external circumstances.
It's about grounding oneself in the realities of legacy life while still maintaining the flexibility and originality to work toward desired action-outcomes.
Being a questioner, especially in a philosophical or intellectual context, encourages us/you to embrace uncertainty or non-commitment.
Questioning underscores the humility of our intellect in the face of complicated issues. This approach teaches us to appreciate the unknown and the unknowable, instilling a healthy sense of curiosity and openness that propels us towards continuous learning, knowing, deciding, shaping, and sharing.
Moving Forward and Equilibrating Situations
Being realistic while questioning prepares us/you to tackle the legacy challenges that come with moving-forward. It means leveraging experiences, embracing transition, setting and achieving outcomes, and constantly striving for self-improvement.
Emotional resilience, physical health, and nurturing healthy relationships also form crucial aspects of this process.
Moving forward involves equilibrating situations—bringing unfamiliar elements of a situation into balance or harmony.
This concept could apply to emotional, social, psychological, or even physical situations, creating an environment where all components function harmoniously, promoting a sense of dignity and peace seasoned by achievement and accomplishment.
The Adoption and Adaptation Process: 'Adeption'
As we/you navigate through the process of moving forward and equilibrating situations, the concept of 'adeption,' a blend of adoption and adaptation, becomes vital.
While 'adeption' is not a standard English term, it's helpful as a conceptual tool. It signifies the process where one not only adopts (embraces) new ideas, practices, or technologies but also adapts them to fit their specific needs, context, or environment.
This active engagement involves using something as it is AND tailoring and refining it based on our unique circumstances or legacy outcomes.
Ethical Considerations: Guiding Our Actions
This brings us/you to the first of our triad: ethical considerations.
Ethics guide us in determining how best to interact with one another for the world.
They shape [and are shaped by] our hierarchy of values and attitudes, influencing our behavior towards other individuals, communities, and even nations.
Living ethically contributes to societal harmony, fostering mutual respect and understanding among diverse groups of people.

Ecological Considerations: Promoting Sustainability
The second aspect, ecological considerations, involves understanding and respecting the complex/complicated interrelationships among various organisms and their environment.
Such considerations underscore the balance of nature and the importance of biodiversity.
Walking with an ecological approach promotes sustainability, reminding us that our action-outcomes can have a far-reaching impact on ecosystems all over the planet.
Environmental Considerations: Reducing Our Impact
Finally, we have environmental considerations. These encompass a broad range of issues, from climate shift and pollution to natural resource management.
Leaning into environmental considerations means making choices that reduce our environmental impact and support the health of the planet.
Critical here is the use of environmental learning and environmental-inspired education.
Correct vs. Right: A Matter of Perspective
As we navigate through ethical, ecological, and environmental considerations, it's crucial to differentiate between being correct and being right.
Being correct…implies an alignment with objective facts, rules, or standards.
Being right…carries a more subjective connotation, often involving personal judgment or opinion.
This distinction reminds us to decide framed by dynamic balancing.
The Way Forward
In closing, living with ethical, ecological, and environmental considerations is about the decisions we make today. It shapes being FOR the world and WITH the planet.
By grounding ourselves in reality, embracing uncertainty, moving-forward, equilibrating situations, and practicing 'adeption,' we can walk with legacy contributions (stories and projects) that affirm our values, respect the world we build, and nurture the planet we co-grow.
This, ultimately, is the power and promise of ethical, ecological, environmental being-having-doing while living legacy life.
