Ethereum Singapore 2024: Home Staking Summit

Solo and home stakers are the pillars of the Ethereum network.

Yet, efforts to engage and grow this talent pool have been fragmented—e.g., small-scale education, grants, and capital allocation initiatives run individually or collaboratively by organisations.

Even the recognition of solo stakers was minimal until recently when projects began allocating airdrops (e.g., Diva, Starknet, Omni) or designing incentives specifically for them (Heroglyphs).

It doesn’t help that running blockchain nodes is often perceived as boring compared to faster-moving DeFi/NFT/Memecoin narratives.

To top it off, the penetration rate of solo staking in Southeast Asia has been especially low outside of Singapore.

What is the Home Staking Summit?

Essentially, we are bringing everyone who cares about Ethereum solo staking together in one place to:

1. Serve as a massive coordinated effort across the ecosystem to encourage home staking—e.g., LSTs, DVTs, LRTs, tooling, solo/home stakers, ETH-aligned DAOs, grassroots communities, builders, etc
2. Recognise and celebrate existing home stakers + inspire new talent to take up the reigns
3. Create excitement around this space—e.g., “Make home staking great again.”

The Home Staking Summit consists of 2 main components:

1. A conference focused on home staking. We’ve heard of Staking Summit, but where on earth is the much-needed Home Staking Summit?
2. A series of three home staking workshops will be conducted weekly, 2 leading up to the Home Staking Summit and 1 after.

Why is this exciting?

Ethereum Singapore 2024: “In The Ether - A festival of innovation & discovery” will be held at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands, one of Singapore's prime locations. With its unique blend of art, science, and technology, the ArtScience Museum provides an inspiring backdrop for our workshops, panels, and networking sessions.

This iconic venue will host a month-long series of events coinciding with F1 weekend, Ethglobal Singapore & Token2049, and home staking is a highlight of the festival this year!

Participation is free but ticketed due to capacity constraints, with priority given to the following groups:

1. Existing or aspiring home/solo stakers
2. Participants of the Home Staking Summit workshop series (Sign up here!)
3. University student blockchain clubs
4. Selected communities that have shown commitment to growing the home staking talent pool
5. Employees or contributors of sponsors

Founded in 2016, Ethereum Singapore Meetup boasts a robust community of over 9,000 members committed to galvanising Singapore's local ecosystem.

This year, Ethereum Singapore 2024, "The Infinite Garden City," endeavours to bring together developers, creators, and newcomers from around the globe, fostering the growth of Ethereum talent for the future.
