• [Polygon DAO] Polygon Village Wonders 2022 officially kicks off! Hackmakers has been selected by Polygon as 1 of the 12 applicants from thousands of applications around the world, to join their flagship accelerator program. All accelerator recipients will receive direct investment, marketing and technology assistance to boost traction and development of Web-3 infrastructure.
• [The Verge] The Merge, which took place early Thursday morning ET, will cut Ethereum’s energy consumption by an even bigger margin than previously expected, a new analysis finds.
• [TechCrunch] Starbucks is today officially introducing Starbucks Odyssey, launching later this year — the coffee chain’s first foray into building with web3 technology. The new experience combines the company’s successful Starbucks Rewards loyalty program with an NFT platform, in partnership with Polygon Technology.

• [Al Jazeera] Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard has given away his business worth 3 billion dollars, redirecting its profits toward the fight against climate change.
• [Eureka Alert] Lithuanians developed a takeaway food package that does not contain a single gram of plastic! A truly collaborative effort between Kaunas University of Technology researchers together with business and citizens.
• [Interesting Engineering] SpaceX hits a milestone as Starlink arrives in Antarctica, making high-speed internet now available on all seven continents. The Starlink dish can withstand extreme temperatures as low as -22 degrees Fahrenheit.
• [Analytics Insights] Can AI bots preserve Queen Elizabeth alive? If yes, is it moral? Like a “Black Mirror” episode, Microsoft introduced earlier this 12 months it had secured a patent for a software that would reincarnate folks as a chatbot, opening the door to even wider use of AI to carry the lifeless again to life.

This week, our focus is on our pitch deck, and how we communicate to our stakeholders! Last week we had our very first multi-platform livestream, if you could not make it, do not worry at all. The session was recorded and the recording can be accessed via our Discord channel.

Next week, we will formally announce our guilds and formal roles that OG’s can take up, to massively increase our impact in our quest for innovation for good.
