ETF Insider Winter edition - out now!

The latest ETF Insider is out now! This month, Europe’s only ETF magazine for professional investors focuses on the ESG ETF landscape, an area of the market that is under pressure despite rapid growth in recent years.

Despite lower inflows in 2023, ETF issuers still view the area as a key way to differentiate from competitors. Highlighting this, ESG ETFs have tripled over the past five years and now total 592, up from 187 at the start of 2018 (p.34).

How to navigate this landscape is one of the focuses of this issue as fund selectors grapple with the myriad of options available – select, leaders, elite, Paris-aligned, climate transition, net zero and socially responsible, to name a few.

?Understanding these labels is crucial for fund selectors if they want their portfolios to have the desired performance and impact (p.22).

I want?to also highlight that ETF Insider has?a new home – the ETF Stream website – meaning readers previously unable to access the magazine due to firewalls?will have no issues going forward.

In this issue:

  • Why don’t wars move markets (p.20)
  • SFDR overhaul poses challenges for ETF investors (p.28)
  • The price of diversification (p.44)
  • The challenges of active ETFs (p.46)
  • Tactical ETF investing in China (p.48)

A big shout to: Alex Funk , CFA Justin Reynolds Desiree Fixler BlackRock Jane Wadia J.P. Morgan Asset Management BNP Paribas Asset Management HANetf Karin Wiederkehr Stefan Wiederkehr Edoardo Mezza Filippo Carlo Arena MSCI Inc. and of course Theo Andrew and Jamie Gordon for their contributions.

Also?inside are the usual segments such as ETF of the Month (p.17), Education Corner (p.15), Fund Fights (p.19) and Expert Investors, where ETF Stream interviews fund selectors on the role of ETFs within their asset allocation (p.13).

We hope you enjoy this issue and do pass on any feedback as we would love to hear from you!
