Eternal Jobs?

I am convinced, from the Scriptures, that in the "New Earth" we will have work to do. Gloriously rewarding work. When God created Adam he immediately gave him the responsibility to cultivate and care for paradise. God created paradise so that is was not self-sustaining. Man had a job to do. I can't imagine what cultivating and caring for paradise entailed, but it had to be the most fulfilling job that's ever existed on planet earth. There is every reason to believe that when God re-creates our planet, he will do the same for each one of its inhabitants.

It will be completely outstanding and fulfilling work. Because God is so creative and loves diversity, I believe we will have incredibly unique roles in the “New Earth”, roles that will align precisely with our abilities and passions. We will not be bored or under-utilized. We will not be pressured or stressed out because we can’t meet the work’s demands. Because sin will be obliterated, our jobs will no longer be exhausting, frustrating, demeaning, or unimportant. We will no longer compare and compete, feel envious towards each other, or be jealous when someone else gets a promotion. We'll be equally valued and fully appreciative of each other's contributions. Isn’t that a much more compelling picture of the next life than what you used to imagine?
