To celebrate and keep the fun going, we've gathered top takeaways directly from you - our eTailers! See what attendees thought were the most important items to bring back to their team and what we want to continue the conversation on at eTail Palm Springs on February 24-27, 2025 !
1. Story selling is the next phase of content.
Your content can't just check a box, says Lauren Livak Gilbert from The Digital Shelf Institute , it needs to tell your brand story to your consumer and give them the information they need to make a purchase decision.
With the underlying theme of knowing your customer and focusing on profitable growth, Gilbert also identified creating a culture of commerce, rethinking the creative brief, and content is still the unlock for commerce as other key takeaways!
2. Scaling as a leader requires identifying your team's skill gaps and building a well-rounded crew with clear operating principles.
Mimi Swain , Chief Commercial Officer at Ring & Blink, an Amazon Company , was joined by with Courtney Graybill , Denise M. Foley , and Kelsey Knight, MBA for the Women in (R)eTail panel to talk about their career journeys, champions along the way, and the importance of relationship building.
3. Personalization is a value exchange.
Jason Davis from Simon Data shared among his top takeaways following eTail? Boston, continuing "so many brands get this wrong - if consumers feel that your brand understands what you're looking for and your needs, their response changes accordingly. The future of marketing is conversational - and very different from many of the bad habits around email marketing or generic ad targeting today."
4. Where Gen-Z goes for product inspiration is changing.
The Z Suite took the main stage at eTail Boston and one thing was clear: the channels new generations are using to discover trends and products are shifting. After tuning into The Z Suite session, Andrea (Andi) Huels top takeaway was encouraging retailers that have been tasked with Gen AI to think multimodal.
5. Omnichannel is a moving target, so make sure you're moving.
Lena Moriarty , Head of eTail? Marketing, was inspired by Christina Monkman , Head of eCommerce at 宜家 's keynote where she discussed the excitement behind being a part of a legacy brand during a growth period, and the sheer amount of opportunity that lays behind omnichannel marketing.

3 个月Great recap! Personalization was a major theme. One of the standout insights came from Mike DiMiele at Vivid Seats: don’t overdo it. While tailored experiences are crucial for driving customer engagement, getting personalization wrong can quickly turn them away. Start small!
