Shizuoka, Japan.- Esteban Gutierrez and the Inter Europol Competition team finished in 11th position at the 6 Hours of Fuji, the penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The one in charge of starting the arduous six-hour competition was the Mexican, who had a good start going from 11th place to 6th place in the LMP2 cars. Esteban also began to build a comfortable margin and had good duels on the track, however just 12 laps from the start he began to lose rhythm and the tires did not respond comfortably.
As the race progressed the rhythm of the car continued to show no improvement and the tire wear was greater. After three stints, the first driver change was made with Kuba Smiechowski taking to the track, later it would be Alex Brundle's turn.

Finally, Esteban made two more stints for the end of the race and finished 11th, the same position that the team maintained for the last three hours.
The next round on the FIA World Endurance Championship calendar will take place on November 12 in Bahrain, with an 8-hour race to close out the 2022 season.
Esteban Gutierrez:
“Unfortunately we are not satisfied with the result, it was not what we were expecting. However, we took a risk in the strategy and it didn't work for us, we tried to do three stints in a row and that made our tires not hold up. We did try, we thought that it would be the best strategy but the varied temperatures made the balance of the car difficult to control as well. We leave with a good learning, the team continues to improve and we have more control of everything we are looking for in the car and that gives me many positive aspects to continue working on. We are going to Bahrain with a lot of motivation to achieve a good result and close the year well”.
