People are the most important aspect of every organization. With that comes a great responsibility to provide educational opportunities that include functional and leadership training (and certification). The foundation of leadership needs to be formed early in a career, but that doesn't mean that we stop learning.

Leaders provide their people with a sense of purpose by encouraging learning in the workplace. Additionally, leaders should be seeking out learning opportunities for themselves and their team. What are the Different Types of Certifications that can be added as a learning goal?

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional? (RBLP?) is for Front-Line Supervisors. Collective resilience is the ability to overcome challenges, and then adapt and grow because of those challenges. Resilient teams are stronger together and they make organizational learning and change possible. Front-line supervisors build resilient teams by creating a positive climate, developing cohesion, and providing purpose.?

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional? Coach (RBLP?-C) is for Middle Managers. Solving problems and overcoming challenges is a learning process. Middle managers facilitate the team’s ability to learn by analyzing team learning capacity, orienting on team goals, encouraging constructive dialogue, and building new mental models. We call this certification “coach” because middle managers are responsible for coaching their front-line supervisors to build resilient teams.?

Resilience-Building Leadership Professional? Trainer (RBLP?-T) is for Senior Leaders. Organizational learning makes change possible and enables competitive advantage. Senior leaders support the organization’s ability to learn by analyzing organizational learning capacity, promoting a shared vision, fostering knowledge emergence, and ensuring knowledge diffusion. We call this certification “trainer” because senior leaders are responsible for the leadership training of front-line supervisors and middle managers.?

Do I Have to Take Exam Prep Training to Get a RBLP Leadership Certification?


Our Authorized Training Partners (ATPs) use experiential learning techniques and coaching skills to facilitate reflection and critical thinking about each applicable leader task. This process of reflecting and thinking puts the student’s prior leadership experience? and? education into context in preparation for the oral exam. Exam prep courses are designed to prepare students for the RBLP series of certification exams but is not a substitute for prior leader experience and education.

Oral exams are challenging. Exam prep?training?replicates?the oral exam process?by requiring students?to articulate what, why, and how questions for each applicable leader task.?Studies show that individuals that take the time to study and prepare for the exam have a higher exam pass rate.?Exam prep classes also give you the opportunity to meet other RBLP certified professionals with the same dedication to building and leading resilient teams.


How Do You Get a RBLP Leadership Certification?

Our certification exams provide the public with a reliable mechanism for certifying that our credential holders have met relevant competency standards. Our exam processes and procedures ensure that all our credential holders demonstrate their competence adequately and fairly.

We administer oral certification exams because leadership knowledge can be tested more effectively by oral exam than by written examination. The?RBLP,?RBLP-C, and?RBLP-T exams are issued orally in English or Spanish by exam administrators via Microsoft Teams video conference. All of the RBLP exam administrators hold doctoral degrees and have 20+ years of leadership experience.

Applicants for certification are required to show competence of factual (what), conceptual (why), and procedural (how) knowledge for each leader task in the competency domains applicable to their level of certification.


How Do I Keep My Certification?


Recertification is required every three years to maintain the RBLP, RBLP-C, or RBLP-T level of certification. Credential holders are required to complete a professional development exercise detailing how they have implemented applicable leader tasks in the workplace during the previous three years.


Establishing learning goals should support both current performance objectives and expected future responsibilities in both functional and leadership areas. By adding a focus on leadership, you are helping the professional growth of everyone involved.
