Global hygiene and healthcare company Essity has unveiled the world’s first tissue machine running entirely on geothermal steam at its production facility in Kawerau, New Zealand. The plant’s annual CO2 emissions have been reduced by two thirds. In total, more than 100 people attended the official opening of the newly upgraded tissue machine, including business leaders from New Zealand and Australia from the manufacturing, distribution, sustainability and retail sectors, and business and community representatives from Kawerau. Kimberly-Clark moves forward with project in Warren, US

Kimberly-Clark continues to move forward with its project in the city of Warren, Ohio, after acquiring 559 acres of former steel property on Pine Avenue in 2023. Warren Mayor Doug Franklin said progress on the site should intensify in the coming months. The manufacturer of products such as Kleenex and Huggies diapers maintains weekly contact with municipal representatives and Howland Township officials to discuss infrastructure needs and the formation of a Joint Economic Development District (JEDD). Georgia-Pacific Recycling, a leading trader of recyclable paper, plastic, and metal, announced that its online platform was named a finalist in the 2025 Marketing Awards for Excellence in Innovation, organized by the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. Launched in June 2023, the platform provides small-scale recyclables producers with fast access to upfront pricing for more than 50 grades of recyclable paper, plastic, and metal. Tap to learn more.
