Essity, a hygiene and health company, has successfully launched the start-up phase of the Projec tGeotis in Kawerau, New Zealand, where Paper Machine No. 3 was dismantled and fully modernized. This project introduced a groundbreaking solution: natural gas burners were replaced with a drying system powered exclusively by geothermal steam, making it the world’s first tissue paper machine to operate entirely on this sustainable energy source. Kimberly-Clark’s U.S.-based employee resource group (ERG) for veterans, SALUTE, has strengthened its support for military veterans by sponsoring the Old Glory Honor Flight missions. Three veteran family members of Kimberly-Clark employees participated in these honor flights, which provide free, day-long trips to Washington, D.C., for veterans who served before 1975. The flights allow veterans to visit national military memorials and cemeteries, offering a tribute to their service.
