The spirit of giving was alive and well at the Essex Solutions facility in Torreón, Mexico, as the team came together for a heartwarming holiday celebration with the Tarahumara community.?
A group of employees, in collaboration with the Hermano Tarahumara A.C. association and other altruistic organizations from the Laguna region, joined forces to host a traditional Christmas posada for the Tarahumara people—bringing joy and holiday cheer to those in need.?
The event was a special occasion for the Tarahumara community, who traveled from the mountains of Chihuahua to participate in the celebration. Around 350 individuals, including mothers and children ranging in age from 1 to 12 years old, were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. These children and their families typically face extreme winter conditions in their hometown of Guachochi, Chihuahua, where temperatures can drop to a bone-chilling -20 to -32°C. To provide relief during the harsh winter months, the Hermano Tarahumara A.C. association offers a temporary home and food to these families, ensuring they are cared for during the coldest time of year.

“Our employees were eager to contribute, making donations and serving food,” Ernesto Woessner, the Human Resources Manager at the location said. “But the team didn’t stop there—many joined in the efforts to make the event memorable for the attendees.”
The Christmas posada was a celebration of more than just the holiday season—it was a powerful reminder of the difference that community support and kindness can make. For the Tarahumara people, especially the children, the event was a rare opportunity to experience the warmth of the holiday spirit, as well as to enjoy a festive meal and some much-needed relief from the harsh winter conditions.
