The roles of leadership and management often spark lively debates. This contrast is highlighted by an experience I had in a meeting with 20 senior consultants. The start was delayed because the projector wasn't working. While we waited, I calculated the cost of the passing seconds...about £2 each. In the five minutes it took to find someone to fix the projector, we lost £600. It wasn't the role of the group leader to ensure the equipment worked, but it was his job to be certain that someone did.

1 年Stefan Ross interesting summary and I really liked the "Leadership provides vision, while management makes it a reality" part. I agree with it 100% - to be honest trying to be tactical and strategic at the same time is one of the hardest things I have done and I would say many of my clients say the same, therefore we should really focus on separating the two as soon as we can
