Essential checklist before running your next ad campaign
You can create great ads that drive people to a website, but if they don't buy anything when they get there, it's your website's fault.?Make sure your website is up to snuff before you start driving traffic to it with Facebook or LinkedIn ads. If it's not, you're wasting money.
Here is a list of 10 things to check:
1. Is your website fast?
People expect websites to load quickly, and if yours doesn't, they'll leave. Use a tool like Pingdom to test your website speed and see where you need to improve.
2. Is your website easy to use?
Can people find what they're looking for on your website easily? Is the checkout process simple and straightforward? If not, you're going to lose potential customers.
3. Is your website mobile-friendly?
More and more people are using their phones to browse the internet. If your website isn't optimized for mobile, you're going to lose those visitors. Use a tool like Google's Mobile-Friendly Test to see how your website stacks up.
4. Do you have a strong call to action?
Your website's call to action is what tells visitors what you want them to do. It should be clear and visible, and it should be something that's easy for them to do.
5. Is your website secure?
If you're selling anything on your website, you need to have an SSL certificate. This will ensure that all of your customers' information is encrypted and safe.

6. Are you using effective website design principles?
Your website should be designed in a way that's easy on the eyes and easy to navigate. If it's not, people will leave. Use a tool like Hotjar to see where people are clicking on your website and make changes accordingly.
7. Do you have testimonials or reviews?
Social proof is important, and it can help you convert potential customers into actual customers. If you don't have any testimonials or reviews on your website, consider adding some.
8. Is your content well-written and relevant?
Your website's content should be well-written and relevant to your target audience. If it's not, people will leave. Use a tool like Google Analytics to see how people are interacting with your content and make changes accordingly.
9. Remove pop-ups.
They're annoying and not very effective. Your website should be a clean, safe space for you and your visitors. Pop-ups are distracting which could lead to someone leaving before completing their purchase or reaching the checkout page on our site.
10. Allow autofill and guest checkout - we're all lazy.
Why not let the computer do it? The idea is that we're all lazy, so why bother with entering our information over again when there's an easy way for us to just click some spots and get what we want.
Making sure your website is up to par is essential if you want your Facebook ads to be effective. Take the time to go through this checklist and make the necessary changes. Your bank account will thank you.
