1 个月I use a lot of these myself. Including on LI when I try adding some additional nuance to a post, partially agree, or agreeably disagree. So much of it comes down to tone and word choice. Exaggerating the difference, it's like saying, "Um, I don't think that's quite right..." compared to "What a stupid idea, that couldn't be more wrong!" The former doesn't offend, so the person will be more willing to listen to what you have to say. The latter makes you a jerk and their enemy, and they'll never listen to you even if you are right and they are not.

1 个月Great phrases for those learning English but also for those who are already English speakers. I often find that folks have a tough time in meetings speaking up and having tough or just open conversations in a healthy way. These are great.
