Essence of Buddy@Lupin

The following are the Essence of Buddying I have realized by being a Buddy for New Joiners for a Decade at Lupin... ?

• To help the new employee to integrate with Lupin by providing access to someone who is familiar with our culture, attitude and expectations.
• To clear the confusion of not knowing what’s ''normal'' in Lupin - what’s ''right'' and ''wrong'' here - what’s expected from New Joinee - what’s the culture?
• To accelerate the new employee's ability to deal with the early disconcerting issues.
• To emphasize the New Joinees to Imbibe and Live the Lupin Values
• To make the New Joinee start to add value more quickly, leading to increased confidence and self-esteem.
• To be a compass to the New Joinee (while others are guiding with the speedometer, Buddy guides with the compass)
• To tell the New Joinee that “Speed is important, but direction is more important than speed.”
• To live to, and surpass the expectations of boss, colleague and others and teach this to others.
• Is the concept of “Being Me”, as each individual is unique in values and capabilities, and how being yourself is important, knowing your strengths and being proud of them and using them in our day-to-day activities, including as a Buddy.
• Understanding and implementing SWOT analysis and learn how we can convert our weakness into strengths so that strengths increases and weakness (areas of improvement) decreases.
• To learn how to convert Threats into Opportunities
• To see how Buddy process is serving as an ideal early employee orientation process of New Joinees at Lupin
• To interact with fellow Buddy and share the personal experiences and build rapport.
• To return some of the investments and contributions which Buddy process made to us – for us!!
• To invest time and energy into yourself to become a better communicator and leader.
• The essence of Buddy is not only about retaining others but retaining yourself to perform tasks for common goals of Lupin conquering new heights!
