Let's face it. AI is taking our jobs.?
I had seen firsthand how my colleagues lost jobs because AI can now perform tasks that business owners had always asked humans to do: content writing, website management, sending emails, marketing.. and the list goes on.?
You can prompt AI with what you need for your business, and you'll get more than just one version of the output that you asked. Imagine that, for business owners, that would save the amount of money they pay a human worker.
The real deal is that they can receive 3x more than the typical amount of result a human would provide.
All they need are tools like ChatGPT and OpenAI, and the "possibilities are endless." Once, this "cliched" phrase was merely impossible. But look around; it is our reality now!?
Look again! The rate at which AI is advancing is unimaginable.?
Digital Marketing is one industry that was hit the hardest when free access to an intelligent machine shocked societies. A 2023 report by Valentina Dencheva, projects that the market value of AI will triple its rate by 2028 . We are now in 2024. Imagine how fast using the most advanced language processing technologies takes over.
And you cannot blame businesses, company owners, and marketers worldwide for taking that advantage. McKinsey & Company, in a study, revealed that AI-enhanced marketing led to a 30% increased sells, especially with creative industries. Read the report here .
Generative AI propelled Marketers in producing campaigns and ads with hyped creativity. With these data and statistics alone it seems like we have no control over the possibilities of how AI might take more jobs from humans.
Let us face this unfair advantage.?
While many are relying on AI and laying off human digital marketing experts, there is another side of the coin that keeps on flipping on the surface. There are also more businesses and companies right now who has seen how important it is to hire humans. Especially today that AI is taking roles.
As a writer, I once feared losing my job; the worst fear I had was seeing my line of expertise becoming "extinct" (quote en quote).
Only when, as a human, I think out of the box and think ahead of the AI game, and realize that Digital Marketing is impossible without humans. (Of course, I'm a human, I would not let a machine be the one getting paid.)
As humans, it's instinctive for us to thrive. (Let's go find a job, let's make a way.)
I thrived on my craft; I saw my colleagues bid goodbye. But not bid bye to our craft.?
The Right Perspective...
AI Regulation
We need the right perspective.?
It may be a resounding phrase that AI is scaling human jobs. But beyond that popular opinion is this truth. With “judicious business owners ”, (McCoy, 2023) humans will scale AI. We hold the coin and it's time we flip it. Switch to the right perspective. See the bigger picture of creating more jobs and more sustainable possibilities where every human worker would thrive.

How does a Digital Marketer like me face the threats that loom around my industry and a HUGE possibility of losing my job?
I scale AI.?
While automation is the big thing for business industries in this new era, we can take advantage expand its benefits for humans. AI is a powerful technology that makes things easy but to fully harness its potential a reliable and quick-witted human is needed to make them operate. For example, as a content writer, it is amazing to see that I can create a full-length blog post in just one click. I need just a few words to prompt the AI and there I have the piece!
However, as an expert in the field, and who understands the business needs of my clients, I will see the gaps in those outputs. Now I have scaled the role of just having a pure "content writer" in our team and finding real experts who can spot the flaws of the AI product and improve it. I would not just hire a "writer" but I will look for a "content analyst or proofreader" who knows how to edit pieces of content to perfection.
No matter how speedy and cost-efficient these AI tools we use for our business, those who are reaping these advantages have seen more opportunities to offer more relevant roles to humans.
Businesses are not only concerned with how much and how fast the staff produces results. It is not only about quantity anymore. Now we can have divided attention to improving relationships. Making meaningful job experiences by making sure of seamless communication between providers and their customers.
Businesses that know how to extract all the data they need from using AI, can quickly derive insight and create accurate perceptions about the next steps for their agencies. The upper hand is among the experts in the industry who improve "job roles" and give more meaningful "job titles" to a human. This would also come with a streamlined operating process and a positive work environment.
Does it sound superficial? Is it not attainable? Only if we understand some limitations of AI and regulate using it, then the possibilities are endless.
This essay is freely written using pure human ability. I free-write, letting my thoughts flow. It was during a time when I was facing great anxiety when I noticed that slowly, clients were pulling out, one after another.?
This essay is my raw and unfiltered take on current trends. It covers my personal experience. It contains insight and foresight. These are things AI cannot do.?
Even AI knows it’s limitations. (Curious If I’m telling the truth? Ask GPT! You will be surprised.)
The Human Touch: Real Experience, Insight, Foresight
Now… These are words that translate what most successful businesses need. Agree?
The right perspective is not fear of losing or taking away jobs. The right perspective is AI regulation. Use humans to scale AI. But it will only be clear to a business entity when it sees what AIs cannot do.?
Recently, YouTube announced that they will mandate video creators to identify AI-created posts from Human ones. How YouTube do this? Read the latest article from Search Engine Journal ??.
Only there can you ask a human to regulate it. Use it for productivity and precision. Aim for trustworthiness, authenticity, and honesty.
