?World Environment Day, being celebrated annually on June 5th, to create awareness on environment sustainability & protection .The theme for 2024, "Our Land, Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration," emphasizes the importance of restoring land, combating desertification, and enhancing resilience to drought. we are degrading 100 million hectare of lend each year in the name of mindless development . We need to act hard & fast to reverse the process ?from "Degradation to Restoration" of land
The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is the global vision and voice for land. Riyadh, hosting the biggest ever ?16th session of the Convention’s Conference of the Parties (COP16) ?from 2-13 December 2024,which is expected ?to be the largest-ever international gathering on land and drought?management .Land restoration is a key?agenda of ?UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration ?(2021-2030)?to achieve the sustainable Development Goals.?
