When we constantly measure ourselves against others' accomplishments, we lose sight of our unique strengths and potential.
The repercussions extend beyond our own well-being and affect our teams and organizations. The toxic effects of comparison can create a culture of unhealthy competition, stifle collaboration, and erode trust among team members.

Maria recently embarked on a coaching journey to address her tendency to compare herself to others in the industry. Even though she is an accomplished creative professional herself, she often found herself fixated on the achievements of her peers, leading to self-doubt and a sense of falling short.?
Maria experienced the comparison trap in various ways, which affected her mindset, confidence, and decision-making. Here are the main features of her experience:
Self-Doubt and Inadequacy:?Maria often found herself questioning her own abilities and feeling inadequate compared to her peers' achievements. For instance, when she saw a fellow entertainment company receive numerous industry accolades for their recent production, she started doubting her creative vision and questioned if her team could ever match that level of success.
Distraction from Unique Strengths:?Comparison shifted Maria's focus away from recognizing her own unique strengths and contributions. She became overly preoccupied with benchmarking herself against others, which hindered her ability to leverage her distinctive creative approach.
