Escape The Rat Race And Make Thousands From Affiliate Marketing: The Easy Steps To Making Money Through Affiliate Marketing
Are you feeling overwhelmed trying to find a good affiliate marketing program?
Here are 7 questions every affiliate marketer needs to consider when joining an affiliate program (the 7th is surprisingly essential and can be a total dealbreaker for me).
Affiliate marketing can be rewarding, but finding a good affiliate program can be challenging.
The first step is to find a business or company that has an affiliate marketing program. You can look around some of your favorite companies' websites (for example, any company you have already bought products or services from). If the company has an affiliate program, there is usually a link on the website to click and learn more.
Otherwise, websites like ClickBank | Affiliate Marketing Hub have affiliate programs.
Once you have found an affiliate program you are interested in, research it further to determine the quality of the program.
Here are 7 questions I think about when considering a program to join:
1) What is the affiliate commission structure paid to affiliates?
2) Are all products available for an affiliate to sell, or only some?
3) What are the prices of their products or services (all high-priced products, all low-cost, or a mix of prices)?
4) How many sales must an affiliate make to get the first commission?
5) Does the company hard code the affiliate? Hard code means that if a customer buys via your affiliate link and then makes a purchase again but does not use your affiliate link, you still get credit. The customer is coded/linked to the affiliate for all future purchases.
6) Is there a cost to join the affiliate program? Many companies allow affiliates to join for free. If it is not free, then affiliate training and/or affiliate sales and marketing services are usually provided.
7) Does the company have any pre-made sales pages, sales funnels, or email sequences affiliates can use when promoting?
When you find an affiliate program you like, I recommend emailing the company at least one question to confirm some information you read in the affiliate program description.
If you do not get a reply or the response differs from what you read, that is usually a BAD SIGN that the program is not organized, and you might have issues getting paid. Unfortunately, it happened to me.
Once you find a program you feel comfortable with, there will be a process to join as an affiliate on their website.
After you join, the company will provide you with a unique affiliate URL for the company’s website(s).
You use this URL whenever you promote the products.
Now, you are ready to start promoting!
To summarize, if you research and check out different programs, you will learn what type of program you want. Once you find the right one, committing to it and sticking with it becomes easier.
So, there you have it. That is a basic overview of how to join an affiliate program!
