Escape.
Dear Essentialists,
I just finished a big project. It was tempting to jump back into everything reactively. But I was reminded that: In order to have focus we need to escape to focus.
Here is how to do that this week:
Open your calendar and find every empty time slot you have over the next few weeks and reserve them for time to talk, think, explore, relax and dream.
This is a small step to take back control of your life.
This theme continued in the "Essential Intervention" with the Kharitidis Family this week on the podcast. They "escaped" to Norway in order to create space to dream up a new life for themselves. Listen and subscribe here.
What if we stopped celebrating being busy as a measurement of importance?
What if, instead, we celebrated how much time we had spent listening, pondering, meditating, and enjoying the most important people in our lives?
Thank you, really, for reading this 1-Minute Wednesday.

4 年Thanks, Greg! A great reminder to help break away from traditional personal performance metrics, and for me, to follow my intuition more than my intellect which is driven by acquired mores as to how I must "perform".

4 年So inspiring! It is all about focusing on the "important not urgent", right? Of course, the rest of the tasks still needs to be done, yet with more self-awareness on how much time we spend on the "urgent-important"!
