ERP Solution Wars 2020 And Beyond

Sometimes finding the right ERP solution for your business is a hard decision to make so it is helpful to understand where each option in the market stands in comparison to one another

In 2020, their positions will look slightly different. The following statements outline the predicted future trends for SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle for 2020 and beyond.

1.      SAP Will continue to be Prominent in Large Enterprises: SAP’s biggest strength is building its product from the ground up rather than through acquisition. It’s the biggest challenge is convincing small and medium-sized businesses that they need its Large, Expensive global software. This won’t impact SAP because companies continue to seek standardized and consolidated business software for their operations and so, SAP will continue to appeal to these kinds of larger global businesses.

2.      Oracle will remain the Middle of The Field: As Microsoft and SAP continue to establish strong positions among large and small organizations, Oracle has a unique benefit and chance to operate on both sides of the field. While its products of E-Business Suite and JD Edwards may not have the biggest rate of popularity among the smallest and largest enterprises, both products appeal to a number of medium sizes (500 – 2000 employees)  organizations in the very middle of the field. This is due to Oracle’s strategy of developing alternatives for numerous industry demands. Oracle continues to work on its products and simplify them for customers onto a single platform which helps to keep it fixed in the middle of the field.

3.      Microsoft Will grow market share in Small to Medium Organizations: Microsoft Dynamics will increase its prominence among small and medium-sized organizations. With the help of acquiring Navision (NAV), Axapta (AX) Microsoft now primarily appeals to small and medium-sized enterprises. The consolidation of these systems has created a consistent Microsoft Dynamics platform that expands its appeal in companies that seek simpler cheaper solution than SAP. Since smaller organizations have yet to adopt large and more complex ERP systems, this is where Microsoft Dynamics will Dominate.

Not particularly correct. Saying that "SAP’s biggest strength is building its product from the ground up rather than through acquisition" is an example. About Oracle, NetSuite, being its biggest product, is not mentioned. And no doubt, MS Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is winning many sizeable contracts among big companies that are fed up with unnecessary complexity.?
