ERP Mechanics: Climbing mountains is in this company's blood

ERP Mechanics started in the mountains.

Karolis Aleknavi?ius and Aidas Slivinskas, two industry freelancers, took a break from an ongoing project in 2017 to trek through the Austrian Alps. Amid the snowy peaks, they discussed what they’d do when their current project wrapped up.

Watch PartnerTalks’ conversation with ERP Mechanics co-founder and CEO Karolis Aleknavi?ius below.

“The idea kind of came that we should … unite experienced people in the field and get some good projects,” Karolis recalls. “Not just assignments as freelancers, but bigger projects, rescue projects.”

Karolis and Aidas realized that, as technical resources, they could work remotely – ideal for the Lithuania-based freelancers. By bringing together a freelancing team of technical specialists, they could deploy technical resources worldwide with minimal travel expenses.

“It was easy to (earn) a good name because, usually, we were successful,” Karolis says. “I don’t remember a time we failed, really.”

Due to the new company’s success, ERP Mechanics’ initial rescue projects turned into ongoing support projects. With that, the company began to evolve.

It started hiring full-time workers, grew a lot, and now employs around 30 people. Its projects expanded beyond remote rescues and technical deliveries to include Lithuania-based full-scope operations.

In 2025, Karolis says, ERP Mechanics will grow even more.

“This year, we will try to extend our Partner list,” he explains, but notes that larger gears are in motion, too.

ERP Mechanics is establishing a legal entity in the US, with plans to begin hiring and jump-start operations soon. Germany will also see an office pop up shortly, a clear sign that the company is going global.

From the Austrian Alps to the United States, ERP Mechanics’ reputation for success has carried the company around the world. Its original conceit of uniting freelancers through shared remote work has evolved, putting boots on the ground across continents.

Still, Karolis says, ERP Mechanics is just getting started. There are always bigger, better mountains to climb.
