ERMS - Wireless touch screen and voice-command controlled passenger aircraft seat management
Stream on YouTube: https://youtu.be/LEKqbxKgx9M
The ERMS is a system that monitors and controls passenger seats via the on-board computer. The on-board computer screen indicates whether or not the passenger seats are ready for takeoff or landing. This is done with the help of an electronic system that electronically adjusts and blocks individual seats, groups of seats or all the seats in an airplane. It is possible to recline, block or unblock the seats with the push of a button or voice command. The system can control individual seats, seat groups, seats located in the EXIT area and all the seats in an airplane. Sensors inside the passenger seat inform the crew about everything related to that seat, i.e. whether the backrest is upright, whether the table has been folded away, whether the armrest has been lowered and whether the passenger is seated with his/her seatbelt fastened. However, thanks to smooth-running, electronic push buttons, the passenger too benefits from easy seat adjustment possibilities. Moreover, the in-flight entertainment screen tells him/her what is left to do in order for the plane to be ready for takeoff or landing.
