Ericsson to enable Play's nationwide mobile network expansion

On 24th July 2018 Ericsson and Play signed a contract for the supply of the Ericsson Radio System and this opens up new opportunities for both companies. Through this contract, Ericsson will enable Play's nationwide mobile network expansion and bring improved experiences to their customers. This is a strong endorsement for the Ericsson Radio System with our 5G ready radios and baseband. We have also signed a LOI for collaboration between Play's engineers and Ericsson's R&D Centre in Poland where we have 2000 radio software engineers based in Cracow and Lodz. The collaboration will enable us to learn from each other, strengthen our products and bring new services to market faster. This is important for Ericsson in Poland as we will grow our market share where we have the 2nd largest radio R&D centre in Ericsson. It is also important for Poland because this contract award backs Polish radio software technology and supports Poland being a leading innovator in 4G and 5G technologies.
