Ergatta Offline: Jeremy Jaico on pursuing music in New York

One of the best aspects of working with our team is getting to learn about all of the amazing talents our team members have outside of what they bring to the table at Ergatta. Maybe we’re biased, but our employees are truly some of the most impressive people we know. They do it all - from side hustles to creative outlets, there’s not a single employee at Ergatta who doesn’t have an inspiring, rich (and busy) life outside of the office.

As a company, it’s important for us to support our employees in their passions and in their lives outside of work. Our goal is to foster a work environment that enables our employees to pursue their personal interests and goals to the fullest extent.

In our newest LinkedIn series - “Ergatta Offline” - we’ll be spotlighting employee stories outside of work. First up: Jeremy Jaico, Senior Technical Support Associate.

If you read the recap of our onsite event, you know that Jeremy is a well known DJ/artist in the NYC music space. When he’s not helping assist our customers with their Ergatta rowers, Jeremy is hard at work writing, recording, producing and performing his music all over the city (and the country!) under the stage name Haiko. We caught up with Jeremy recently to learn a bit more about Jeremy's music pursuits.?

How long have you been pursuing music?

About 13 years now. I started out in a metal band in high school, then went on to become a DJ/producer, touring around the country opening for bigger acts. Once I graduated from college, I moved back to New York and transitioned into songwriting.

What does your music - both creating it and performing it - mean to you?

It means everything to me! It has become a part of my identity at this point. For half of my life, I've been performing, creating, and getting to share my music with the people I care about the most. I want to do this for as long as I can.?

How have you found the ability to balance your role at Ergatta with your music?

Balancing it all has been pretty easy! The Ergatta team supports me, they come to my shows, they buy merch, and they listen to my new music. That's all I can ask for!

What's your favorite venue you've ever performed at?

My favorite venue so far has been Webster Hall. However, my dream would be to perform at Red Rocks in Colorado.

When's your next show?!

I just opened up for a touring act at Mercury Lounge and it was a lot of fun! As far as the next show goes, not completely sure yet. Definitely planning one for the summer though - stay tuned.

We hope you enjoyed the first (of many) Ergatta Offline stories. Be sure to keep an eye on our LinkedIn page for future employee stories to come. In the meantime, if you’re interested in learning more about Ergatta and what it’s like to work here, don’t hesitate to visit our careers page for more information.
