Erbe is among the TOP 1000

Erbe is among the 1,000 largest family businesses in Germany. There are roughly three million family businesses in Germany.

The publication "Die Deutsche Wirtschaft" (The German Economy) has prepared a current ranking which lists the top 1000 family businesses in terms of the number of employees, turnover and founding year.

Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH holds rank 847 for turnover.

In terms of employees, we hold rank 825.

We are even 87th with regard to founding year.

Last year, the 1,000 largest family businesses achieved a total turnover of around EUR 1.5 billion and presently provide approximately 6.7 million jobs. These numbers confirm that family businesses - many of them being medium-sized companies - represent the backbone of the German economy.

Of the 1,000 family businesses with the highest turnover, the majority (290) are based in North Rhine-Westphalia. Followed by Baden-Wuerttemberg (207) and Bavaria (188). Family-run businesses have a long tradition in Germany, going back to the early Middle Ages. Some companies continuously have been family-run for over 1,000 years.
