An Era without a Dominant Ideology
“The current global decline of liberalism, in conjunction with the ideological competitions within China, could lead to a world without mainstream values. There is little hope for liberalism to survive the current challenges from non-liberalist ideologies and resume its dominance as a global influence as long as Trump’s administration continues undermining the United States’ international reputation and American leadership, and fails to grow the United States’ capability faster than China’s. It is also less possible for China to provide a non-liberalist ideology for the world unless it adopts the principle of humane authority. At the present time, the most possible scenario is that no ideology dominates at the global scape while major ideologies, including liberalism, compete for regional domination or influence on countries of a given type.”
