Equity AUM hit an all-time high on the back of excellent performances from Nifty 50, Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Nifty Small Cap 100
The Indian mutual fund industry has witnessed significant surge in total assets under management (AUM). Industry's net AUM rose 4.99% sequentially and 21.48% year-on-year to Rs. 49.05 lakh crore in November 2023.
As per media reports, the benchmark indices hitting all-time highs in November boosted the mutual fund industry AUM. Equity AUM hit an all-time high on the back of excellent performances from Nifty 50, Nifty Mid Cap 100 and Nifty Small Cap 100.
Among open-ended schemes, Multi Asset Allocation Fund (10.96% rise) showed the highest sequential gain, followed by Small Cap Fund (10.39%) and Arbitrage Fund (10.15%). Other ETFs and Liquid Funds maintained their positions as the categories with the highest AUM.
Open ended equity schemes witnessed 8.19% rise AUM in Nov 2023 followed by Hybrid Schemes (6.12%) and Solution Oriented Schemes (5.68%).
The Average Assets Under Management (AAUM) rose 20.38% on yearly basis to Rs. 48.75 lakh crore in Nov 2023.
The industry witnessed net inflows of Rs. 0.26 lakh crore in Nov 2023 as against net inflows of Rs. 0.81 lakh crore in Oct 2023.
Overall, open ended equity funds saw net inflows of Rs. 0.16 lakh crore, down from Rs. 0.20 lakh crore in Oct 2023. Equity funds witnessed inflows for 33rd consecutive month. Small-cap funds saw the highest inflows among equity funds at Rs. 3,699 crore followed by Mid Caps at Rs. 2,666 crore and sector/thematic funds at Rs. 1,965 crore.
Open ended debt mutual funds witnessed net outflow of Rs. 4,707 crore in Nov as against Rs. 42,634 crore net inflow in Oct. All open-ended debt categories saw net outflows barring money market, banking and PSU, floater, gilt and long duration fund.

Systematic Investment Plans (SIP) contribution surged to Rs. 17,073.30 crore, the highest till date. The number of new SIPs registered in Nov 2023 was 30,80,185, taking the overall SIP AUM value to Rs. 9.31 lakh crore as compared to Rs. 8.59 lakh crore.
The total number of SIP accounts also reached to an all-time high of 7.44 crore in Nov 2023 compared to 7.30 crore accounts in Oct 2023.
