Equipped for the Battle

Equipped for the Battle

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." - 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV

As believers, we are enlisted in a battle. This battle is constant and is not fought with conventional weapons or earthly strategies, it is the Spiritual battle between good and evil. Our weapons are God's truth: the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His presence in us.

Before getting to know Christ, we were unknowingly aligning ourselves with the forces of darkness, allowing our sinful nature to dictate our thoughts and our actions. We were ensnared by selfishness, envy, greed, and hatred, unaware of the warfare raging in us and around us.

However, through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ, we were rescued from the dominion of darkness and were transferred into the Kingdom of light. Now, as part of God's army, we are equipped with spiritual weapons empowered by the Gospel to dismantle the strongholds of evil, both in our own lives and in this world.

We must recognize the reality of this battle. And our role in it. Our time on earth is brief, but the impact we make echoes into eternity. Our ultimate purpose goes beyond personal redemption; we are called to be ambassadors of Christ, shining the light of the Gospel into the darkness and leading others to salvation in Him.
