Greetings to everyone.
In this article, I will answer a question from my Youtube community that goes like this...
What tool and equipment to correct installation defects of components after the SMT line? What tool to correct the position of components on the printed circuit board after incorrect soldering?
In almost any production, there should be a department that deals with the correction of this kind of defects. What equipment should be there?
Which tools to use depends on which components are installed. Ordinary 2-pin components like capacitors, resistors, diodes, etc. are passive, which are easily adjusted with thermo-tweezers or a soldering iron, whichever is more convenient for you. Do not tear off the tracks only. For large components, bottom heat is needed, a heat gun or an infrared soldering station is needed to heat up the repair site, even if it is an aluminum circuit board.
To correct the position of the microcircuits, a repair center with thermal profiles or a bottom heating table with an upper heater is required.
In 99% of cases, soldering defects on the SMT line are corrected, but these processes must be approached responsibly.
